Hi and welcome to another issue of the www.nicoledeboer.com newsletter.

1. As many of you are aware - http://www.nicoledeboer.com redirects you to the
actual site at
http://members.xoom.com/scifioz/nicole.htm

Recently Xoom installed a frame around every page in their system. This meant
that not only did it restrict those of you using 386's on 14,400 modems and
older browsers, but it also meant the layout of the site changed for those with
small screens. (It also increased download times by 4) I found a way around this
and set the redirection URL accordingly. If you're using the location URL on
your site can you please change it to http://www.nicoledeboer.com

Since doing that, Xoom have removed the frames. Having set the redirection to
the non frames URL, which now no longer exists, the site seemed to be down for
over 24 hours. So, very sorry about that.

(Xoom obviously got a lot of complaints about the frames and are looking at a
different system.)

In the meantime, if a grey border suddenly appears on the site, could you email
me? I might need to do some updating!

I use NameSecure for domain forwarding. Recently found out I have email
forwarding too. So my new email address is neil@nicoledeboer.com

2. Welcome all our new members. Just over 150 people are part of this mailing
list. And remember, members can use this list to communicate with each other.

Remember, your email must be about Nicole or related to something that she's
been in. Spam mail is not accepted. If you wish to advertise something, rather
than get everyone angry with unrelated advertising all over the place, send it
to me and I'll put it in the next newsletter in the advertising section.

4. As many of you are aware, Nicole has appeared in a few episodes of the series
- Dooley Gardens. As far as I know, not many people in the US are able to
receive the series. Never fear, there, hopefully, will be some grabs on the site
within a few weeks. So stay tuned!

5. The Message Board has been excitement plus during the last few weeks. An
Imposter Nicole and The Real Nicole have been fighting it out over convincing
readers who is the real one. The Real Nicole, of course, won. The messages are
still on the board so please go and visit and have a read if you haven't already
done so. :)

Re: The Board. The Administration software is down at the moment so I'm unable
to log on and shorten the board. May take awhile to download.

6. Site updates. If you haven't been to http://www.nicoledeboer.com you may wish
to call in soon and check out the new additions of screen grabs from Deepwater
Black.  These were taken by Mike Garrin when the episode first aired. I've
lightened a few and turned a few into animated images. Feel free to download
them and use them on your sites if you wish.

7. Latest news.
DS9 finishes in April. Nicole has finished filming for DS9 and is moving onto
pastures new. She has, as far as I can tell, the option of coming back for the
movie in a couple of years time. There's also the possibility of cross overs if
Voyager returns to Earth next year.

The Great Link held a competition for the sexiest Star Trek actress. Nicole won
with 215 votes with Roxanne Dawson coming second with 93. The system was set up
so that you could only vote once.

There was a launch in Sydney for CUBE on Wednesday the 24th February. I went
along with a shirt saying www.nicoledeboer.com on the back and got a lot of
interest from it.

When I saw CUBE at the special media preview in November last year there was
silence and the occasional scribbling. I came out with the impression that they
didn't really enjoy it. At this premiere, which was for anyone who bought a
ticket! it was completely different. People groaned in horror at the first few
minutes, laughed at the appropriate jokes 'You suck at math?!' and held their
breathe at the 'spikey' bits. Definitely a movie to see with a group of people.

It was a party as well. Dendy gave out a bottle of a lemon alcoholic drink per
person as well as vegetable triangles and assorted savouries. A computer game
was launched there as well as prizes given out. I spoke to Clare about possibly
doing a competition on the site and so, that's why there's a competition!!!

8. Thanks to all those who've bought books using the Amazon books search engine
on the main page. Much appreciated. For every book sold I get between 0.30 and
0.80c. While it isn't something that is going to cover the cost of the many
hours spent maintaining the site, it does help with paying the phone charges for
every time I ring my ISP. (In Australia local calls from your home phone cost
25c. It amazes many of us when we hear that local calls are free in most parts
of the US! Don't know about Canada. :) )
